Rinteln in the Weser highlands

Weser, water, Weser Renaissance - the three "W"s stand for a relaxing and interesting stay in Rinteln.

Stroll through Rintelns shopping mile or experience the traces of the Weser Renaissance on a walk, preferably with a dedicated city guide. History and stories are waiting for you everywhere.

Visit the former town hall at the marketplace or the pretty archive house in the 'knight' street as well as proud aristocratic farms.

The Rinteln museum "Die Eulenburg" is also worth seeing. Experience an exciting journey through time inside the castle domicile from the 16th century.

Discover the beautiful Weser landscape by bike or at a hike. The proposals for hiking are versatile and for bike specialists there are interesting tours, as well as the connection to the popular long distance Weser cycle path, which follows the river from the beginning up to the estuary mouth.

As a particular pleasure for young and old alike Rinteln offers its guests tours with hand cars on a 18-km-long route of the historic Extertal railway. Also a great experience for the whole family: a ride on the historic steam train, or a visit to the Adventure World "steinzeichen steinbergen".

You can also take a passenger ship to discover parts of the Weser or, if you desire an adventure, take the paddle into your own hands. Rinteln does not only have the Weser but also the Doktorsee ('Doctor lake') as a recreation oasis of a special kind on the outskirts of the city.
